Crest, colours and icons

Your site uses the standard Openside design, in your club’s colours, with your crest.

Your crest

Send us your crest from your setup checklist. In order of preference:

  1. SVG: the sharpest at every size.
  2. PNG with a transparent background, at least 500 pixels tall.

If your crest already includes the club’s name, say so, and we’ll use it on its own. If it doesn’t, we set your name beside it.

No crest? That’s fine. Your club’s name, set in the heading type, stands in for it.

Your colours

Choose two colours:

  • Brand colour: headings, links and the bands across the top of each page.
  • Action colour: buttons, such as “Come to training”.

We check that text on each colour is easy to read (the WCAG AA contrast standard) and suggest a darker or lighter shade if it isn’t.

App icons

Your site can be added to a phone’s home screen and shows an icon in browser tabs. We make these from your crest, so there’s nothing extra to send. If you’d like a different icon, for example a simplified crest, send a square image at least 512 pixels wide with the important part in the middle 80%.

The accent stripe

Under Site admin › Club identity, you can add a thin accent stripe to your site: your club’s colours, the Progress Pride flag, the rainbow flag, the trans flag, or none.
